Jeni Loftus received her Ph.D. from Indiana University in 2004, and joined the Purdue University faculty in 2004.

Her research in the broad areas of sexuality, medical sociology, gender and family, is guided by social psychological theory, and utilizes both qualitative and quantitative research methods. She has published research on attitudes toward homosexuality and female sexual distress. Her current research primarily concerns the effects of female infertility on the self. She currently has several manuscripts under review in this area at peer reviewed journals. She is also interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning and has one article in that area. She has taught courses on American Society and Research Methods and is currently preparing to teach Gender Roles in Modern Society.
